DIRECTIONS

  1. Place about 10 sheets of normal copy paper underneath your Teflon sheet on top of the rubber of your press. Place the Teflon sheet on top of the copy paper.
  2. Mirror image you design
  3. To set the pressure, use very low to no pressure, just close the press on top of the Sublimer.
  4. Recommend to use a coated sublimation paper such as Otto Pro 125g, (which we stock), A Sub 100g, Sub Text Pro 105g sublimation paper for Sublimer, for the brightest colour and best transfer.
  5. For the 3mm Sublimer, set the temperature of the press to 180°C and 180 seconds.
  6. For the 6mm Sublimer, set the temperature of the press to 180°C and 360 seconds.
  7. You can sublimate any side. Remove the clear plastic protective layer at the front and back of the Sublimer. Wipe off all dust or unwanted particles from the Sublimer with a lint-free cloth before you apply the print.
  8. Take the print and line up the Sublimer product on the print. Place it slowly and carefully on the press, with the print on top.
Do NOT use heat tape to secure the print to the Sublimer, it will leave marks on the Sublimer. You may let heat tape go from the print to the Teflon sheet, but not on the Sublimer.
  9. Press the Sublimer with the above time and temp.
  10. Next to the press, place 2 sheets of normal copy paper on the table.
  11. When pressing time is up, work very fast, remove the print from the Sublimer, and place the Sublimer immediately on one of the sheets of copy paper, followed by the second sheet of copy paper. Now place a heavy object on top, for example, a ream(pack) of copy paper to keep the Sublimer flat. Use more than one pack of paper if needed.
  12. When the Sublimer is cooled down completely, you might find that there will be a little bit of paper residue (white marks) on the Sublimer. This residue, you will wash off with normal hand wash soap and a soft cloth or paper towel. Also, dry off with a soft cloth

PLEASE NOTE: Steps 1-10 are how to press the Sublimer and keep it as a flat product. But you can also bend, curve, shape, or mold Sublimer. The next steps will show you these different options.

Curving the Sublimer over a mold or other curved object:

  • To curve your Sublimer onto a mold, you will follow steps 1-9
  • But instead of placing the Sublimer onto a copy paper with a heavy object on top like stated in step 9, you instead place the Sublimer directly out of the press on top of the mold. This is for the Sublimer to take up the shape of the mold while it is still soft and hot. You need to press it down onto the mold by using two of the same molds or your hands by using cloths to hold it down until it takes up shape and goes cold.
