BLACK Gypsogem Eco Resin Original features a pre-pigmented formula, so there is no need to add colour separately. This makes the process simpler and more convenient, especially for makers who want a ready-to-use black base for bold, striking pieces. The powder delivers a rich, true black finish and is now packaged in buckets for added storage convenience and easier handling.
Our BLACK Gypsogem Eco Resin Original is available in 1kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, and 10kg bucket options, making it suitable for a wide range of projects, from smaller trinket trays and décor pieces to larger statement items. This eco-conscious resin powder is mixed with water, setting it apart from many conventional resins that require chemical additives. Designed for ease of use, safety, and versatility, it supports a broad range of creative applications.
Gypsogem Eco Resin is a sustainable alternative to traditional materials such as plaster and cement, offering artists and makers a more environmentally conscious choice. Similar to decorative casting systems like Jesmonite, it provides a versatile option for home décor, art, and functional pieces. Its formula allows for smooth casting and refined results, making it suitable for everything from decorative trays to candle jars and other handcrafted items. It can also be used alongside epoxy in mixed-media projects for even more creative possibilities.
Curing time is typically around 15 to 20 minutes, although this can vary depending on weather conditions and what has been mixed into the powder. Colder temperatures can slow the curing process, while warmer conditions may help pieces set faster. For intricate or delicate moulds, it is best to allow extra time before demoulding to avoid breakage and to ensure the piece has developed enough strength.
For added durability, our Resin Hardener is available and is especially useful for reinforcing pieces or helping candle jars remain fully sealed. This is particularly important for candle vessels, as melted wax can seep through unsealed material over time. Using a hardener helps create a stronger, more durable, and more reliable finished piece.
The finished result has a sleek, slightly semi-gloss look that gives pieces a polished and striking appearance.
Notes:
- Because this is a black formula, it can be a little messier to work with during handling and may leave residue on moulds. This can usually be cleaned off easily with warm soapy water or a gentle mould cleaner. The black formula also behaves a little differently during mixing. It may appear lumpy or uneven at first, but with continued mixing it smooths out into a more workable consistency. While a general mixing ratio is provided, the black resin may sometimes need a little extra liquid to reach the ideal smooth, pourable flow.
