Assembly Note

Sublimation Pressing Instructions

Single-Sided Printing

  • Temperature: 190°C
  • Time: 90 Seconds
  • Pressure: Light to Medium
  1. Carefully remove the protective film before pressing, taking care not to scratch or damage the sublimation coating.
  2. Position your printed transfer and secure it in place.
  3. Cover the substrate with silicone paper to protect both the MDF surface and your heat press.
  4. Ensure heat tape does not come into direct contact with the MDF surface, as this may leave tape marks.
  5. To minimise the risk of tape marks, place a sheet of silicone paper between the heat tape and the MDF surface before pressing.

Double-Sided Printing

  • Temperature: 200°C
  • Time: 50 Seconds Per Side
  • Pressure: Light to Medium
  1. Carefully remove the protective film before pressing, taking care not to scratch or damage the sublimation coating.
  2. Position your printed transfer and secure it in place.
  3. Cover the substrate with silicone paper to protect both the MDF surface and your heat press.
  4. Ensure heat tape does not come into direct contact with the MDF surface, as this may leave tape marks.
  5. To minimise the risk of tape marks, place a sheet of silicone paper between the heat tape and the MDF surface before pressing.
  6. After pressing the first side, remove the item from the heat press and allow it to cool completely before pressing the reverse side.

Important Notes

  • If the MDF coating develops bubbles after pressing, immediately place the item under a smooth, flat, heavy object such as reams of paper or a heavy book. Allow it to cool completely while under pressure.
  • MDF is manufactured from compressed wood fibres and resin. As with all MDF products, minor chipping, dents, or edge damage may occur during everyday handling and use.
  • To improve durability and reduce wear over time, a protective coating or sealant may be applied after sublimation.
  • Handle and store finished products carefully to minimise the risk of scratches, chips, and impact damage.
  • Pressing times and temperatures may vary slightly between heat press brands and models. We recommend performing your own testing to achieve the best results for your equipment.
