How to Use Eco-Seal – Waterproof Care for Gypsogem Eco Resin
Make sure your Gypsogem Eco Resin piece is fully cured before sealing, 24 to 48 hours, longer the better. Follow these steps for a smooth, water-resistant finish:
- Prepare the Surface
- Ensure your resin creation is completely dry and free of dust.
- Dampen the Sponge
- Dip a 5 to 6cm size sponge into clean water and squeeze out the excess.
- Lightly wipe down your resin piece to prep the surface.
- Apply Eco-Seal
- Dip the damp sponge into the Eco-Seal, squeeze again to remove excess.
- Quickly and gently rub a thin, even layer over the surface.
- Avoid letting the sealant pool or dry mid-application—less is more for an even finish.
- Layer as Desired
- Allow the first layer to dry completely.
- Repeat the process for additional layers depending on the desired effect.
- If your gypsum creation has a base, apply Eco Seal in sections. You won’t be able to rest the sealed surface on a raw, unsealed area until it’s fully dry—so work in stages to ensure a smooth, even finish
- The initial coat may appear light but the coverage will increase with each additional layer.
Note: Applying Eco-Seal with a dry brush or sponge may cause streaks, similar to traditional varnishes. The damp sponge method helps ensure a smooth, consistent result.
Storage Tips:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Always close the cap tightly after use to preserve freshness.
