Bring out the brilliance in every piece.

Eco UV Seal is a glossy, waterproof, UV-protective sealant suitable for Gypsogem Eco Resin, gypsum, cement and cement-based creations. It helps create a smooth protective barrier over porous surfaces while enhancing depth, detail and vibrancy.

Eco UV Seal is ideal for sealing trays, pots, coasters, ornaments, décor pieces and gypsum candle vessels before pouring wax.

It has been tested by us and is commonly used by many of our clients for sealing gypsum candle vessels. For best results, always ensure your vessel is fully cured, correctly sealed and tested with your chosen wax, wick and fragrance combination before selling or gifting your finished candles.

Eco UV Seal gives your pieces a glossy, polished finish. Apply one coat for a softer gloss, or build up additional layers for a richer, higher-gloss effect.
Use it to seal and protect your gypsum and cement-based creations. Eco UV Seal adds durability, shine and UV protection, helping your handmade pieces look more polished and professional.

Please Note
  • This listing is for 1 x 1 litre Eco UV Seal only. Any products shown in the photos are for demonstration purposes and are not included.
  • If you are using a gypsum product that already includes a hardener or built-in sealing system, an additional sealant is generally not required for basic sealing.
  • Eco UV Seal can still be used when you want a glossy sealed finish, smoother surface protection, added UV protection, enhanced depth or a polished look.
  • Eco UV Seal is not a wax, fragrance, wick or candle-making additive. It is used to seal the gypsum vessel before candle pouring.
  • Eco UV Seal does not make the finished candle vessel fireproof, heatproof, burn-proof or mark-proof.
  • As with any candle vessel, incorrect wick sizing, flame position, wax type, fragrance load or poor burn performance may cause heat marks, brown flame marks or damage to the vessel.
  • For candle vessel use, always test your finished candle as a complete system, including the gypsum mix, pigments, sealant application, wax type, fragrance load, wick size and burn performance before selling or gifting.

How to Use Eco UV Seal
Make sure your Gypsogem Eco Resin, gypsum or cement-based piece is fully cured, completely dry and free from dust before sealing.

Sponge Method
  1. Lightly dampen a clean sponge with water and squeeze out the excess.
  2. Dip the damp sponge into Eco UV Seal and squeeze out any excess product.
  3. Quickly and gently apply a thin, even layer over the surface.
  4. Avoid allowing the sealant to pool or dry halfway through application. Less is more for a smooth finish.
  5. Allow the first coat to dry fully before applying additional layers.
  6. Repeat if additional coverage, protection or gloss is required.
For pieces with a base, apply Eco UV Seal in sections. Do not rest a sealed wet surface on an unsealed or unfinished area until it is fully dry.

The gloss effect increases with additional layers.

Please note: Applying Eco UV Seal with a dry brush or dry sponge may cause streaks, similar to traditional varnishes. The damp sponge method helps create a smoother and more consistent finish.

Dipping Method

For larger pieces, detailed shapes or when you want very even coverage, Eco UV Seal can also be used as a dip-coat.
  1. Mix 50% Eco UV Seal with 50% distilled water in a clean bucket.
  2. Dip your item into the mixture.
  3. Remove the item and wipe off the excess with a clean microfiber cloth.
  4. Allow the piece to dry fully before dipping again.
  5. Repeat the process if additional coverage, protection or gloss is required.
The dipping method provides even, streak-free coverage and is ideal for larger surfaces or pieces where brush marks may show. With Eco UV Seal, each additional dip can help build a stronger glossy effect, giving your piece a smoother, more polished finish.

Why use distilled water?
Distilled water contains fewer impurities, helping to keep your diluted mixture clean and reusable. Avoid contaminating the mixture with pigments, colourants or dust from your items.

Storage Tips
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Always close the cap tightly after use.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
