Using a plate press:

  1. Ensure your plate press is on medium pressure
  2. Prepare your plate by placing your image onto the plate and attaching it with heat tape
  3. Preheating ceramic is essential in the sublimation process to ensure a uniform design transfer. Place your plate under the open press while you preheat your press to 170 Celsius for 170 seconds
  4. Preheating the plate is important and the big difference is getting the pressure right without breaking the plate and getting it to transfer as well, between medium and light (check your plates as not all are the same thickness).
  5. Once press is ready, you can lower the press
  6. Achieving the ceramic’s maximum temperature is vital for optimal results, and safety precautions, such as using silicone paper and careful handling, are important due to the high heat involved.
