Laser Waterslide Decal Paper – How It Works

Laser waterslide decal paper is a simple and effective way to transfer your own custom designs onto a variety of surfaces such as glass, ceramics, candles, metal, mugs, and decorative items.

Design & Print

Create or select your design using software such as Canva, Photoshop, or your preferred design program.

Print your design onto the glossy side of the waterslide decal paper using a laser printer.

Recommended Printer Settings:

• Print Quality: Best Quality
• Paper Type: Photo Glossy Paper
• High Speed Printing: OFF

Cut

Carefully cut around each individual design, leaving a small border around the artwork. This makes the decal easier to handle and apply.

Soak

Place the cut decal into warm water for 45–60 seconds.

Remove the decal when the film begins to slide freely from the paper backing.

Important: Do not leave the decal in the water for longer than one minute.

Prepare Your Surface

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or oils before applying the decal.

Apply

Lightly wet the surface with water.

Gently slide the decal from the backing paper onto the surface and position it as required.

Remove excess water and air bubbles using a:

• Squeegee
• Paper towel
• Sponge
• Microfiber cloth

Take your time during this step to ensure the decal is smooth and free from wrinkles or trapped air.

Cure

Option 1 – Air Dry
Allow the decal to dry naturally for 24 hours.

Option 2 – Oven Cure
For oven-safe items only, bake at 105–115°C for 10–15 minutes.

Monitor the item carefully during baking, as overheating may damage the decal or surface.
