What is Sublimation?

Sublimation printing is a popular technique. This method is widely used for creating custom apparel, signage, and merchandise.  Sublimation is a process where sublimation ink is transferred into the material surface, creating a permanent, full-color image. This technique involves printing a design onto special paper and then using heat to transfer the ink from the paper to the mug. The heat turns the ink into a gas, which then bonds to the material’s surface, resulting in a vibrant and durable design that is resistant to fading and peeling. Sublimation allows for high-quality prints and is popular for personalising mugs with photos, logos, or other custom artwork.

This approach allows newcomers to understand the fundamental concepts without being overwhelmed by the complexity of complete print processes. It’s a step-by-step journey to build confidence and skills, ensuring a solid foundation is laid before moving on to more advanced printing tasks. The course focuses on the practical application of sublimation printing, a technique that allows for the transfer of designs onto different materials. Participants will receive a range of pre-designed sublimation prints to work with, ensuring they can concentrate on mastering the sublimation process itself. This hands-on approach is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the technique, from preparation to the final product, without the need for prior design skills.
