Flat Press
To press a sublimation lighter, follow these steps:
- Design and Print: Create your design on sublimation paper using a sublimation printer. Make sure the design is mirrored for proper printing.
- Cut to Size: Cut the printed design to fit the lighter.
- Heat Press Setup: Preheat your heat press to the recommended temperature of 200°C.
- Position the Design: Place the sublimation paper with the printed design onto the heat press.
- Cover with Silicone Paper: Cover the substrate with silicone paper to protect both the substrate and the top of the press.
- Press the Lighter: Place the lighter on top of the design, ensuring it is properly aligned.
- Apply Heat and Pressure: Close the heat press and apply light to medium pressure for 180 seconds on one side.
- Cool Down: Allow the lighter to cool down completely before handling it.
- Repeat for Other Side: Once the lighter has cooled down, repeat the process for the other side.
Important Note: Never fill the lighter with lighter fluid before pressing. This should be done after the sublimation process. Additionally, if you are couriering the lighter to a client, it is recommended not to fill it with lighter fluid for safety reasons.
