DIRECTIONS
– Ensure etching cream is well-stirred for a thick, even consistency.
– If the mixture is too pasty, gradually add water and stir until slightly loosened.
– Aim for a balance where the cream is neither too runny nor too thick for effective application.
– Apply the stencil design to clean glass using either sticker or stencil vinyl. Ensure it’s fully adhered to prevent the cream from seeping under the edges.
– Smooth out any air bubbles, particularly around the design edges, for a clear and precise etch.
– Apply a generous amount of etching cream over the stencil design.
– Seal the etching cream container after use and store it in a cool, dry place to prevent drying.
– Leave the cream on the glass for approximately 5 minutes.
– Rinse the glass with water to remove the etching cream.
– Carefully peel off the stencil from the glass.
NOTES
- When it comes to glass etching, the type of glass really matters. Etching cream is designed to work by removing the top layer of the glass to create a frosted look, but it’s less effective on glasses with special coatings or made of borosilicate. These materials are tougher and resist the chemical action of the etching cream, which is why designs may not appear as intended or may be very faint. For the best results, it’s recommended to use standard glass that reacts well to the cream, ensuring your designs come out clear and beautiful.
- Avoid using glasses with special coatings, like sublimation coatings, or borosilicate glass, as the etching cream may not work effectively on these materials. So if you design does not take or is minimal its made of a tougher glass where it is not easy to penetrate.
- Safety first: Keep the etching cream out of reach of children and pets, wear protective gear, and avoid inhaling fumes. In case of accidental contact or ingestion, follow the provided safety instructions.
- In case of eye contact, immediately rinse with water for 15min. In case of skin contact wash with water and Soap.
- Do not inhale the chemical fumes. Keep away from source of ignition.
