DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Apply your stencil design to the wood surface using adhesive vinyl or stencil vinyl.
- Using a silicone brush, apply a thin layer of the Wood Burning Gel over the stencil design, ensuring the exposed wood areas are coated evenly. Less is more, as any excess gel will need to be removed.
- Wipe away any excess gel using the silicone brush and return to container, lets not waste. There should be no thick spots or globs left behind.
- Using a heat gun (recommended 1800W or higher), begin heating the gel on a LOW heat setting. Hold the heat gun approximately 10–15cm away from the wood and move continuously in a gentle waving motion.
Please note: Holding the heat gun too close may cause the adhesive vinyl to bubble or lift. - Once the gel begins turning a light yellow or golden colour, stop heating and carefully remove the adhesive vinyl or stencil.
- Repeat the heating process. The design will begin to burn darker and become more visible. Stop heating once you have achieved your desired burn effect.
Recommended Wood Surfaces – Wood Burning Gel works best on smooth, unfinished, and untreated wood surfaces.
For the best results, the wood should be:
• Sanded smooth for even application and crisp stencil lines
• Uncoated — avoid varnish, sealants, oils, or treated surfaces, as these may interfere with the burn result
• Light-coloured woods such as pine, birch, maple, or bamboo tend to produce clearer and more visible burn effects
• Clean and dry, free from dust, oils, or residue

SHELF LIFE
Once opened, the Wood Burning Gel can last approximately 6–12 months when stored correctly and sealed properly after each use. In some cases, when stored under ideal conditions, it may last even longer. If the gel becomes too thick, dried out, or develops an unusual smell or texture, it is recommended not to use it.
